Located near the gates of the Pomquet Beach Provincial Park, visitors will be treated to a three-mile sandy beach, perfect for that sunny afternoon. Relax on the life-guarded beach, take a walk or jog in the fresh salt air or enjoy the interpretive board-walk describing this, the best example of dune succession in Nova Scotia.
Directions
From Antigonish travel east 9.5km. (6 mi.) on the Trans Canada Highway (Hwy. 104). Take Exit 35 to Pomquet (Taylors Road/Pomquet) then at the bottom of the hill, at the stop sign turn left. Turn left at stop sign / intersection and 3 km past church turn right onto the road for the Pomquet Beach Provincial Park. Watch for Pomquet Beach Cottages signs!
If you are travelling from Cape Breton, take exit 35B. Then drive drive along Pomquet-Monks Head Road, once you get to the church continue along for 3 km.
