Pomquet Beach Cottages

Surrounded by mature hardwood trees on the shores of Sheep Island, in Pomquet, Nova Scotia, Pomquet Beach Cottages will offer visitors a tranquil retreat in tasteful and well appointed Canada Select Four Star rated two-bedroom cottages. Pomquet Beach Cottages reflects the quality of the lodging, the little extras including friendly proprietor-led bilingual service, hot tubs (coming soon), the ample choices of activities nearby and board games and books for those seldom rainy days. Gas barbeques supplement the efficient housekeeping units that are equally well equipped to prepare quick snacks for the beach or gourmet evening meals.

Located at the gates of the Pomquet Beach Provincial Park, visitors will be treated to a three-mile sandy beach, perfect for that sunny afternoon. Laze on the life-guarded beach, take a walk or jog in the fresh salt air or enjoy the interpretive board-walk describing this, the best example of dune succession in Nova Scotia.

Visitors will also enjoy learning about the habitat of the endangered Piping Plover, a sand-coloured, sparrow sized shorebird that nests and feeds along coastal sand and gravel beaches. No larger than a bluebird, the Piping Plover was declared Endangered in 1985 by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada. Each spring, several pairs of adults Piping Plovers use the Pomquet Provincial Park Beach to hatch their eggs and in the summer to raise their young.  Whether the visitor's interests are simple relaxation at the beach, exploring nature or the Acadian heritage, theatre, golf, water sports, scenic drives or a cozy winter retreat after cross-country skiing, Pomquet Beach Cottages and the surrounding area will provide a unique, experience-filled holidays---ideal for the whole family (including the small tote as well as grandma and grandpa).
